How to Peel a Pomegranate
The pomegranate is a fruit with ruby-red jewel like seeds that are just as beautiful as they are healthy! They are loaded with antioxidants to fight off those free radicals from our holiday indulgences. They make an impressive addition to any holiday meal. With this simple little trick opening a pomegranate is quick, easy and mess-free!
I love pomegranates…we used to get them in our Christmas stocking & we called them Indian Apples. This is a really great trick to clean them. How slick! Now, besides munching on them, any other suggestions on how to use them?
Hi Freda, indian apples? That’s a neat term for pomegranates, haven’t heard that one! I love to throw them in a smoothie, in salads or juice them. I have a delicious green bean recipe that I will be sharing shortly too!
Kristin,
I’ve eaten pomegranates my whole life because we always had a tree in our backyard. We used to have special “pomegranate clothes” we would put on before we would take them apart because they were such a mess. I never knew to just pull them apart under water. Great tip!
Roberta, that is so neat that you had a pomegranate tree! I’ve always wanted to have something cool like that growing in my back yard!! Hugs, Kristin
